KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - October 21, 2008 - A main goal of Sea Ray Boats is to ensure that all employees leave work safely each day. The dedicated employees at the company's Riverview facility in Knoxville became prime examples recently when they achieved an amazing safety milestone: 4 million work hours without a lost-time incident.

"Safety is no stranger to Sea Ray's plants. It's part of who we are and how we build boats," said Rick Stone, president of Sea Ray. "Still, this is a remarkable accomplishment that took more than four years to achieve. We are very proud of our Riverview employees, and we will continue to aim for record-setting milestones like this in the future."

A lost-time incident is an injury to an employee that prevents him or her from returning to work the next day. The Riverview facility reached 4 million time-loss-free hours on September 12, 2008, after completing four years and 10 days of safe operation ... and counting.

"I've been employed by Sea Ray almost 24 years. In this time, I've been part of many achievements and awards. But the greatest award is having people go home to their families each day unharmed," said Mike Fritts, general manager of the Riverview plant.

Sea Ray has 310 employees at its Riverview plant, which manufacturers Sport Boats and Sport Cruisers from 24 to 31 feet. As a result of this accomplishment, dealers and consumers can be sure that they are getting a quality product built under the safest conditions.

"This achievement highlights the commitment our employees show to continuous improvement and attention to detail," said Fritts. "We are dedicated to creating a culture that delivers the best possible product to our customer for a hassle-free, enjoyable boating experience."
