KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Oct 28, 2009 -- Sea Ray Boats is driving performance and improving its position as the leader in the recreational boating market by adding a highly distinguished and award-winning group of dealers to its world-renowned sales and service network. Not long after announcing the signing of six premier dealers in August, the company is now pleased to announce the signing of eight additional dealers in important markets ranging from California to the Mid-Atlantic States to Canada.
"Since 1959, it has been Sea Ray's mission to provide the best sales, service, and ownership experience in the marine market, and we¡¦re proud to have aligned with these dealerships because of their proven commitment to the same high standards,¨ said Rob Parmentier, president of Sea Ray. "By continuing to add premier dealerships to our industry-leading team, we are enhancing our market performance and ensuring that our customers get the first-class treatment that completes the Sea Ray experience."
Laurel Marina will represent Sea Ray in northeastern Tennessee from its dealership location in Bristol. The marina and yacht center represents an expansion of the brand's dealer network, as Sea Ray previously had no authorized retailer in the immediate area. Dale Thomas is the owner/general manager of this full-service location, which was honored with a 2009 Best of Bristol Award in the marina/yacht club category by the US Commerce Association.
Sea Ray will expand its presence in southwest Manitoba, Canada, through the signing of Virden Recreation & Watersports. Located in the town of Virden, the dealership is owned and operated by Norman Murray, a Mercury Marine master technician. Virden Recreation & Watersports is known for its excellent service, which is administered by a highly skilled factory-trained team.
Quartermaster Marine, a premium recreational boat sales and service company located in Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, will represent Sea Ray in the growing market of Atlantic Canada. The dealership features one of the region's largest indoor showrooms, with 60 to 70 boats on display. Jason and Rob Craig head up operations for this more than 25-year-old dealership.
A third Canadian-based dealership, Exclusive Auto Marine, will represent Sea Ray as it expands into the pristine northern Saskatchewan market to answer the beck-and-call of consumers who are seeking a superior brand and an experience to match. This award-winning dealership has been in business since 1989, and is owner-managed by Tyler Pellegrini, who places a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Lynnhaven Marine has signed on to represent Sea Ray in the Virginia Beach, Va., area. One visit and you'll realize why this beautiful dealership has been named a Top 100 Dealer by Boating Industry magazine for the past four consecutive years. Lynnhaven Marine has been locally owned and operated by Charles Guthrie for more than 30 years, and along with the 600-vessel dry storage "Boatel," it boasts the area's largest service department. The dealership is conveniently situated for quick and easy access to Broad Bay, Lynnhaven Bay, and Chesapeake Bay.
Galey's Marine Supply of Bakersfield, also a Boating Industry Top 100 Dealer has signed on to carry Sea Ray in southern California. A leading enterprise in this dynamic boating market, Galey's has been in business since 1938 and has been led by Don Galey since 1955. Don is proud of the dealership¡¦s ability to service customers with a "home town touch" from a gorgeous, five-acre, state-of-the-art facility. It is this unique blend of looking forward while maintaining rich, customer-driven values that makes Galey's an exceptional match for the Sea Ray brand.
Marine Center of Las Vegas, the largest marine dealership in the state of Nevada, will represent Sea Ray in Las Vegas and the surrounding area. The dealership is a fixture of the local boating community, having served boaters there for more than 50 years. The Gripentog family, who started the company in 1957, still runs and operates the business.
Finally, Surfside 3/Modern Yachts, a MarineMax affiliate location owned and managed by Vic Levy, has added a third location and is now able to serve Sea Ray customers for the entire eastern end of Long Island, N.Y. Surfside 3/Modern Yachts' existing locations in Westhampton and Mattituck offer Sea Ray customers access from both South and North forks. The addition of the Hamptons Bay marina now provides a central location and a deep-water facility to sell and service larger Sea Ray boats. The Hampton Bays marina is ideally situated on the Shinnecock Canal, providing quick access between the Atlantic Ocean and the Great Peconic Bay.
