Knoxville, Tenn. - Sea Ray's 290 Sun Sport sets the standard for freedom of choice. For starters, you can choose from five color schemes in blue, burgundy, pewter, titanium or black. You can select from a long list of personalized options including a coordinating colored hull, or choose the cockpit seating plan that's just perfect for your friends and family.
All three versions offer a stainless-steel windshield for excellent protection against the elements, cockpit wet bar, built-in ice chest, carry-on cooler and everything else you need to entertain in true Sea Ray style. Plus you can add a fiberglass sport spoiler and premium Polk/MOMO cockpit stereo system with speakers, amplifiers, subwoofer and transom remote for optimum sound.
Water sports enthusiasts will love the amazing agility of this handsome sport cruiser and the storage space it offers. Besides a ski tow eye and wide integral swim platform with concealed ladder and transom shower, the 290 Sun Sport has a standard 496 Magnum® MPI Bravo® III Digital Throttle and Shift sterndrive (375-hp), or you can choose from several twin gas sterndrive or twin diesel sterndrive power plant options. When the day is done, there's plenty of space to stow skis, wakeboards and other toys in the large lighted floor compartment with gas-assisted hatch.
In the cabin, rich fabrics, deep-pile carpet, gorgeous cherry wood Formica® cabinets and a standard Clarion® single CD stereo system with amplifier, speakers and digital cockpit remote make everyone feel right at home. A second stereo remote control unit for the transom is available as an option. If you just can't go without your favorite TV shows or movies, an optional 9-inch TV/DVD combination is available. A spacious V-berth offers lots of room for dining, then converts to a bed by stowing the standard table in its designated compartment and inserting the matching filler cushions. A handy galley with granite-look countertop, refrigerator and sink keeps food and drink at the ready. Plus there's a fully-enclosed head with vanity, pullout sprayer and VacuFlush® head.
An enticing options list lets you add a microwave, shore power, extra canvas and more to the 290 Sun Sport. Among the multitude of standard technical features, the 290 Sun Sport has SmartCraft® diagnostics to help you keep track of depth, fuel usage, engine hours and more. If you choose one of the twin engine upgrades, you can also get a SmartCraft VesselView display with system maintenance records.
With so many choices, the 290 Sun Sport comes with one more benefit that might make your decision to buy a little easier - a full membership in the Sea Ray Owners Club, where you get special privileges and a chance to earn a discount on your next Sea Ray.
