The inaugural #SeaRaySummerContest took place during the summer of 2022, running from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Sea Ray enthusiasts and owners were invited to share how boating with Sea Ray has influenced their lives. Our community then voted on three finalists that were selected by the brand. The grand prize winner from last year impressed the community with their heartwarming submission of a surprise proposal on their Sea Ray in New Hampshire. Learn more about their remarkable story and how they made the most of the grand prize package!

1 – How long have you been boating with Sea Ray?

We had our 1st ride on our new Sea Ray SPX 230 in late June 2021! We were able to choose the options and color ahead of time and were so excited to hear it was actually built a bit ahead of schedule! Other than that, we’ve had many great boat rides on my Dad’s Sea Ray boat growing up and through the years when my sister and brother-in-law purchased that boat.

2 – Where do you boat and what model do you own?

We boat on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. This is the largest lake in NH (it’s a 63-mile drive around the lake with a surface area of 44,586 acres). We own the Sea Ray SPX 230 – we love it!

3 – Why did you enter last year’s #SeaRaySummerContest?

I don’t normally enter contests, however, there were 2 main reasons I decided to enter the #SeaRaySummerContest. First, we absolutely love our boat and spending time on it during the summers at Lake Winnipesaukee. We have so many lovely memories on our boat with family and friends, and the contest is about sharing memories with a great community of boaters. Secondly, our family was able to share in an incredibly special memory made on our Sea Ray boat last year when my son proposed on the boat! He planned the proposal around when he and his soon to be fiancé could both be in NH and surprised her with family and friends welcoming them on the dock when they returned from their boating adventure! You can read more about the details in our contest entry – it was so special. When I read about the contest, the idea of sharing this moment immediately popped into my head. We discussed it as a family and decided to go for it!

4 – What did winning the contest mean to you?

Winning the contest was very special and exciting! There were so many wonderful entries, and we felt honored to have won. I remember when we found out, we happened to be with other extended family members, and we all were screaming and jumping up and down with total joy!

5 – What did you do with the grand prize?

The most important and gratifying part of winning the grand prize was to be able to use the gift cards to help fund my son and his fiancé’s wedding! My son is in the military, and they decided to do a small family wedding this past December (with a larger one sometime later). Sea Ray helped make it happen! Now that summer is approaching, we are looking forward to using the other prizes trying new adventures on the lake such as paddle boarding! All the prizes are so thoughtful, useful and high quality. I’m excited to wear my new Skuze boat shoes, for example, and we gifted the Sunski sun glasses to my nephew who took the beautiful pictures used for the contest. There were so many other nice and perfect gifts to use on the boat this year!

6 – Any other thoughts?

We want to thank Sea Ray for doing the contest and providing such nice prizes! We enjoyed seeing the other entries and are very grateful to be the Grand Prize winner.
